The WGGT Cotillion Experience
When Girls Get Together (WGGT) proudly hosts an annual Cotillion—a powerful tradition that celebrates young ladies as they transition into womanhood with grace, confidence, and cultural pride.
Historically, cotillions in the African American community have served as a platform to promote academic achievement, social refinement, community service, and self-respect—all values that align powerfully with the mission of When Girls Get Together (WGGT).
Our Cotillion program goes beyond the ball. It includes workshops on etiquette, leadership and self-esteem. Each young lady, known as a debutante, is mentored and prepared to step into her purpose with poise and pride.
Young women are not only introduced to society but also mentored and molded into poised, confident individuals ready to make their mark in the world.
The journey ends in a formal presentation ball—but the impact lasts a lifetime. Through this transformative experience, WGGT helps girls see themselves as royalty, rooted in tradition and ready to lead.
Empowering tradition. Celebrating excellence. Inspiring futures.
